Jan Dierckx: Highly recommended to do this on a nice day when the sun is setting, absolutely stunning!
Conditions Report: Sticky layer on hard pack that crunches nicely with every step for the first km. Winter trail section still isn't tracked in properly. I broke it in yesterday and followed it again today. For now that section is a crusty top layer that you break through regularly. Until the resort is open for skiing most hikers stay on the groomed trails that follows the summer trail. Snow got softer and more powdery beyond Brockton Point.

Jan Dierckx: Set off my run to take some time off the course record. Was well ahead of schedule at the resort. Snow conditions turned the run into a tough hike past Brockton Point. Nearly missed the uphill course record, had 16s to spare.
I knew I wouldn't break the downhill and combined times today so I headed to Pump peak for some great winter scenery.
Conditions Report: Consistent snow at 800m elevation. Breaking trail between Perimeter and the resort on a crusty top layer. Make sure you know the course or have the course loaded on your watch/phone.
Soft snow on the main trails after the resort. Powdery soft pack after Brockton Point.
Traction highly recommended.

Jan Dierckx: I was going to set a marginally better time than the previous CR to get those sweet course record points. Little did I know Joshua and Meredith were both on course as well setting far better times.
There are good (and heated!) washrooms by the Hatchery near the start.
Conditions Report: Some short stretches of snow left near the end. Most of it washed away by the recent rain.

Jan Dierckx: Made it back just before the rain started. We need a good dump of snow and some colder temperatures.
Conditions Report: Snow is considerably softer due to warmer temps. Top layer soft and slushy. Plus you punch through the first extra inch of snow. Makes for slippery conditions and lots of lost energy when running. Traction helpful.

Conditions Report: Snow patches on Perimeter start at around 800m elevation with consistent snow at around 900m. Hard icy snow on Perimeter with softer snow around Goldie lake. Very busy on the main trails to Pump peak, especially on my way back down.

Conditions Report: Hard packed snow. Course mostly filled in but still some exposed rocks, roots and creeks. Ski resort is not operating yet; hikers are using the summer route still so don't miss the hard left turnoff for the winter route. I did not wear spikes but that is mostly personal preference, I rarely run with spikes.
